Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Lorene Rambo (Hocott@aol.com) 9 Oct 1998 ---------------------------------------- 1811 Mary and Matthew Robertson sell eight acres to John Humphries: Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book L, page 190 State of South Carolina Union District Know all men by these presents that we Mary Robertson and Matthew Robertson have, for and in consideration of Thirty Dollars to us in hand paid the receipt wherof we do herby acknowledge, have barganed, sold, and by these presents do bargain sell and release to John Humphries a certain lot or parcel of Land suposed to be EightAcres be the same more or less, beginning at a small read pine on said Humphrai's line near the path running east to a red oak at the edge of the old apple orchard thence a north course to a small red oak at the old red bank ford thence up said creek to a white oak said Humphrais corner thence south along said Humphrais line to the beginning corner.  We do bind ourselves our heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend unto the said Humphrais his heirs and assigns a good and lawful title to said Land against all claims whatsoever to have and to hold as his own right and property together with all the appurtenances therto belonging in witness wherof we do herunto set our hands and seals this twelfth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven.
