Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book C, pages 83-84 James Terrell to Nathaniel Guiton THIS INDENTURE Made this seventh day of November in the year of Our lord One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety one and Sixteenth year of the Sovereignty and Independency of the United States of America Between James Terrell of Spartanburgh County of the One part and Nathaniell Guiton of Union County and State of South Carolina of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said James Terrell for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty Pound Sterling Money to him in hand well and truly paid by the Said Nathaniel Guiton at and before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said James Terrell hath bargained Sold Enfrossed Conveyed and confirmed unto the said Nathaniel Guiton and his Heirs and assigns forever all the Right Title claim Interest and demand whatsoever of him the said James Terrell a certain tract of Land lying and being in the County of Union and State of South Carolina on Broad River Containing One hundred and Fifty acres Originally granted to Mannon Gore by his excellency the Governor of North Carolina by a Pattent bearing date the Twenty second day of December in the year of our Lord 1768 and Conveyed from the said Gore to Hugh Quinn and from said Quinn to Moses Quarrels  from said Quarrells to James Terrell apurtained by Courses and distances as Follows (Towit) Beginning at a Chesnut and Hickory on the N. Side of the River on the side of the Island and Runs Thence crossing the Island and River South 60 W. 155 Poles to a pine thence S. 30 E. 155 poles to a White Oak thence N 60 E. 155 poles to a stake in the River thence to the beginning.  Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said James Terrell hath bargained sold and conveyed and Confirmed unto the said Nathaniel Guiton and to his heirs and assigns forever all the aforesaid tract or parcel of Land Containing 150 acres as aforesaid Situate as aforesaid Together with all and Singular the houses orchards buildings Improvements woods ways water water Courses Rents Issues profits and advantages thereof or belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders and every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest use trust or possession property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said James Terrell of into or out of the said premises and every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the said Plantation or tract of land Containing 150 acres as aforesaid and every of the premises unto the said Nathaniel Guiton and to his heirs and assigns forever and the said James Terrell doth hereby for himself his heirs and assigns Covenant and agree to and with the said Nathaniel Guiton his heirs and assigns in manner as follows that the said Nathaniel Guiton his heris and assigns shall and May from time to time and at all times hereafter peacebly and Quietly have hold use Occupy and enjoy the Plantation or tract of land Containing as aforesaid without Any Manner of trouble hindrance Molestation or denial of him the said James Terrell his heirs or assigns and all and every of them and Them and from every other person or persons Will Warrant and forever defend the premises aforesaid unto the said Nathaniel Guiton and to his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said James Terrell hath hereunto Set his hands and affixt his seal the date above written. James Terrell Signed sealed and delivered in Presence of Test. Nicholas Corry John Smith 7th November 1791 Then received of Nathaniel Guiton the sum of Fifty pounds Sterling money being the full Consideration Money of the within Contents.  Received by me:  James Terrell Nicholas Corry John Smith South Carolina, Union County: Personally appeared before me Charles Sims a Justice for the County aforesaid Nicholas Corry and made oath as the law directs that he saw James Terrell sign Seal and Deliver the within Instrument as his Act and Deed and that he saw John Smith subscribe his name as a witness thereunto with himself at the same time.  Sworn to this 2nd Day of April 1792.
