This indenture made this 2nd day of Sept. 1785 between Thos. WRITE of the State of South Carolina and Union County of the one part and William WOFFORD of the state and County aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of ten shillings sterling money to him in hand paid by the said Thomas WRIGHT the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a plantation or tract of land containing two hundred acres situate on the south side of Tyger part of the Tract of land whereon William WOFFORD and is included with and by the following boundaries or lines. Beginning at a Black Jack by a lightwood stump on Lewis Bobo's line running thence along the said lines 60W33 to a stake thence N10W 51"50" to a red oak station, near to a branch by Bryant Mill thence down the said branch to Tyger River thence down said River to a White Oak on the Bank of said River in the said WOFFORD's field thence S10E to the beginning. Together will all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the reversion and profits thereof. To have and to hold the said two hundred acres of land with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas WRIGHT his heirs and assigns, executors and administrators from the day next before the signing, sealing and delivery of of these presents for and during the full term of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended yielding unto the said William WOFFORD the rent of one peppercorn on the last day of said term if the same shall be lawfully demanded to the intent and purpose and by force of the statute for transferring uses into possession. He the said Thomas WRIGHT may be in actual possession of all and singular the premises above mentioned and thereby be the better enabled to have and receive the inheritance thereof which is intended to be his and his heirs. Granted and released by another indenture intended to be made and dated the day next after the day of the date hereof. In witness whereof the said William WOFFORD hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date first above written.
