Be it Remembered that I Daniel Howell of Union County in the State of South Carolina being weak in body but of sound and well disposing Mind and memory the Lord be praised, therefore calling to mind the shortness and uncertainty of Human life have thought fit to make and Publish this My last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say when it shall please the lord to call me from this Transitory world I commend my soul to the mercy of God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the disposal of my Executors hereinafter named in full assurance to receive the same again at the General Resurrection And as Touching such worldly Estate as it has pleased the Lord to bless me with in this life have thought proper to dispose of the same in the following manner, To wit, It is my will that all my just debts Doctors bills and Funeral charges shall be first fully satisfyed [sic] and paid out of my personal Estate and the Remainder of my Estate both Real and personal to be disposed of in the manner and form following Imprimis I give and Bequeath unto my son Joseph Howel [sic] all of my land only my beloved wife to have her Maintainance [sic]out of said Land during her widowhood Item I give and bequeath all the Remainder or residue of my Personal Estate unto my son Joseph and Daughters Sarah Lee & Roseanner Lee and my beloved wife to be equally divided between them by my Executors as soon as my by convenient after my decease and lastly I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint my Trusty Friends Humphrey Bales, John Lee and Joseph Lee to be my sole Executors to this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to contain my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Nineteenth day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Six, Signed Sealed Pronounced and declared by the said Daniel Howel [sic] to be his last will and Testament his In presence of us Daniel (X) Howel Thomas Lee (X) mark Joseph Lee (X) Rebecca Spier (X) Will of Daniel Howell Union County, South Carolina Will Book 1797, pp. 79-80 **************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
