Gage ( ordy ) State of South Carolina ) ) Union District ) I Hannah Robinson of the District and State aforesaid, being of sound mind and memory, but knowing the uncertainty of life, and being desirous of disposing of what property a Kind Providence has blessed me with, do make and ordain this my last will in manner and form following. Item 1st I will and desire that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my Executors ( herein after named () as soon after my death as practicable out of what money I may die possessed of, as well as what notes and accounts may be due and owing to me, together with the money arising from the sale of my Cotton, Corn, Wheat, Horses, Cows, Hogs, Bacon, House Hold and Kitchen furniture. Item 2. I will, devise and bequeath unto my son Zackariah Robinson all that certain plantation of land lying being and situated in the District and State aforesaid, containing one hundred acres, and having the following boundings and buttings, beginning at a stake x111, running thence N 45½ E 25.10 to a stake x111, thence S 47 E 15.77 to a stake x111, thence S 33 W 23, 80 to a stake x111, thence 49 E 15,30 to a stake x111, thence S 53, W. 16.05 to Pine x111, thence N 34 W 46, 50 to stake x111; thence along a branch 13.40 to the beginning stake corner, To Have and to hold the said premisies unto the said Zackariah Robinson his heirs Executors and Administrators forever, in trust nevertheless for the use, benefit and behoof of my son John Robinson and his wife Elizabeth Robinson during their natural lives and at their death to go to and vest absolutely in their daughter Hannah Elizabeth Robinson; and in the event that she shall die leaving no child or children her surviving, then in that case, the said tract of land is to vest absolutely to the said Zackariah Robinson. Item 3rd. I will, devise and bequeath unto my son Zackariah Robinson all of the balance of my real estate, to him and to his heirs and assign forever. Item 4th. I give and bequeath unto my son Zackariah Robinson, my negor girl named Laura Jane, of Yellow complexion, about Eleven years old, to have and to hold the said negro girl together with her future issue and increase unto the said Zackariah Robinson his heirs and assigns forever. Item 5th. I will and desire that my negro woman named Sarah, about thirty nine years old, who is both deaf and dumb, shall remain with my son Zackariah Robinson, in order that she may be taken care of by her daughter Laura Jane, give to my said son in the 4th clause of this will. The said Zackariah Robinson is to pay nothing for what services the said negro woman Sarah may render him, nor receive any thing for keeping her. Item 6th. I will and bequeath unto my son Zackariah Robinson my negro boy Jack, of Yellow complexion about Eight years old, to have and to hold the said negro boy Jack unto the said Zackariah Robinson his heirs and assigns, in trust nevertheless for the sole use, benefir and behoof of my son Benjamin Robinson during the term of his natural life, and at his death to go absolutely to such child or children as he may have living at that time, and in default of such child or children, the said negro boy Jach is to be sold and the money arising from his sale equally divided between my sons David Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Elijah Robinson and my daughter Julia Ann Steen wife of Nathan Steen, the child or children of a deceased parent taking the share to which the parent would have been entitled if living. Item 7. I will and desire that the balance of my negroes, namely, Green-a boy of Yellow complexion, about thirteen years old-Delila, a woman ( black complexion ) about thirty five years old, and Chaney a woman ( black complexion ) about thirty five years old together with their future issue, and increase, as soon after my death as my Executors may think best, be appraised by three disinterested gentlemen, to be appointed by the then acting ordinary for Union District. And with the view to keep negroes in the family I desire that some of my children will take the negroes at their appraisement, but should they all decline to do so, then I will and desire my Executors, after giving due notice thereof, to sell the said negroes at public auction to the highest bidder; and the money arising from the sale of said negroes, whether taken at the appraisement or sold at auction, I will and bequeath as follows---- First. to my son R. Munro Robinson the sum of Fifty Dollars--to my son-in-law Jesse P. Fincher and his wife May Fincher the sum of Fifty Dollars, and to my daughter Nancy B. Whitlock the sum of Five Dollars; the balance of said money I will and desire shall be equally divided amongst the rest of my children, to wit, James Robinson, William Robinson, John Robinson, Elijah Robinson, David Robinson, Benjamin Robinson, Zackariah Robinson, Joseph Robinson and Julia Ann Steen wife Nathan steen, Except however that I willand desire that my said daughter Julia Ann Steen shall have and receive one hundred dollars thereof over and above the amounts respectively received by her brothers - the child or children of a deceased parent taking the share to which the parent would be entitled if living. I further will and desire thatthe interest or shares of my sons John and Benjamin Robinson in and to said negroes or the money arising from their sales shall be held in trust for their use benefit and behoof by my son Zackariah Robinson his heirs Executors and administrators upon the same terms and under the same limitations herein before expressed. Item 8. The residue of my estate of what kind so ever I will and bequeath shall be eqully divided among all my children, excepting my son R.M. Robinson, son in law J.P. Fincher & wife, and my daughter Nancy B. Whitlock, who, I desire, shall receive of my estate only the amounts devised to them. Item 9. I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my sons Zackariah Robinson, David Robinson and Joseph Robinson Executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the 15th day of July A D 1859--- Published & declared by the Testatrix as & for her last will and testament, who signed the same in our presence & at her request & in her presence & in the presence of each other we signed our names hereto as witnesses to the due execution thereof.
