Ross to John Miller, 1799 ?69 Know all men by these presents that we James Ross and Alexander L. Ross both of the State of South Carolina and York County for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred silver dollars, to us in hand paid by John Miller of the State and County aforesaid have bargained and sold unto the said John Miller a certain tract of land supposed to contain one hundred six acres be the same more or less, beginning at a White Oak Gladneys Corner running near by with Pattersons line N85W20 chains to Davisons line now John Graham to a hickory now down thence S15E14 to a Hickory on Davisons line thence with said line nearly N67E32 chains to Davisons corner a white oak near a small branch thence N50W3 chains to a Black Oak John McCalls corner thence with his line S31E17 chains to a stake his corner thence with Megarity’s to where the original survey crosses said line nearly to Ramsey’s line and then with the original line to the beginning White Oak Ramsey’s or Gladneys corner, situate in said county on the waters of Turkey Creek where the said Miller now lives, it being part of a tract of Land granted to Robert Bradford the 26th day of July, one thousand seven hundred & seventy four and by conveyance to Francis Ross, and by Will to said James Ross and Alexander Love Ross, and by these present do bargain and sell, convey & confirm unto the aforesaid John Miller his heirs and assigns forever, To have and to hold the granted land & premises with the appurtenances there unto belong or in anywise appertaining to the use of him the said John Miller, his heirs or assigns; and we the said James Ross and Alexander Love Ross do hereby covenant and agree to warrant & defend the said bargained land from all persons any law claim thereto.
