James S. Bishop, P. O. Huron, was born in Hillsdale, Mich., in 1854, son of Bani Bishop, and was educated at the Michigan University. In 1879 he married Miss Annie Johnson, daughter of John Johnson. In the spring of 1880 he came to Dakota and located on the farm on which he now resides. He was the second settler in the township. At the organization of the county, July, 1880, he was appointed County Superintendent of Schools, and was elected to the same office in the fall of 1880, at the first election, and re-elected in 1882. R. A. St. CLAIR, farmer, P. O. Huron, is a native of McHenry County, Ill., and came to Dakota in 1883; was educated for the ministry, and ordained Deacon in 1872, and Elder in 1874. He devoted himself to the work of the ministry from that time. ================================================= J. L.
