Created in 1883, unorganized. Named for Moses K. Armstrong (q. v.) Begins at northwest corner, section 19, township 12 north, 25 east, B. H. M,; thence south to center of channel of Cheyenne River; thence easterly along center of channel of said river to the center of the channel of the Missouri River; thence up the Missouri along the center of the channel, to a point due east of the place of beginning; thence west along the south boundary of Dewey County to the place of beginning. The county is attached to Stanley Co., for judicial and taxation purposes. Area, 339,200 acres. Population, see census. Code, p. 142.
