Henry T. Oldham settled on the farm on which he still resides, in 1879, having
bought out the squatter right of Wm. Turner, who then lived on Hamilton island
with Russell. Oldham had first come to Ft. Randall in 1869 but did not become
an actual resident of the county before the date given above.
