Kirwin Wilson arrived in the early sixties and for a long time lived on the creek near the Missouri immediately west of the reservation line near Joe Ellis where he died about 1880. His wife was a Yankton Sioux. He was a member of the territorial legislature in 1866-7. Wilson was a man far above average in intelligence and education but whiskey ruined his life.
