FAULK, third territorial governor of Dakota, born at Milford, Pike county, Pennsylvania, November 26, 1814, while his father, John Faulk, was absent in the war of 1812, Came to Dakota in 1861 and was appointed governor by President Johnson in 1866, serving four years. He spent the remainder of his life in Yankton, where he died on September 5.
