JOSHUA VAUGHN HIMES, Episcopal missionary, born Wickford, Rhode Island, 1805. Spent his life in religious work, for many years as an ardent follower of Millerism or Second Adventism, in support of which he published many papers, books and pamphlets. In his life he organized more than three hundred churches. Was for many years near the close of his life rector at Elk Point and Vermilion. Died about 1894.
