John B. S. Todd Biography

JOHN BLAIR SMITH TODD, first delegate in congress from Dakota, was 
a native of Kentucky, born April, 1814. Educated at West Point and 
entered regular army and served in Florida war, war with Mexico and the 
Rebellion. Delegate in congress four years, 1861-1865. Died at Yankton, 
January, 1872.
