GREENE, cashier of the First State Bank of Highmore, Hyde county, South Dakota, was born at Carroll, Iowa, March 1, 1875, son of J. L. and Eva V. (Duguid) Greene. He attended the public schools of his native state, and afterward at Highmore, having come to Hyde county in 1884. He subsequently went to the University at Madison from 1893 to 1896. In 1896 he assumed the position of bookkeeper at the Highmore Bank, and continued in this capacity until January, 1 898, when he was appointed cashier, which position he now holds.
