He was born in the southern part of Russia, about forty miles from the Black Sea, in 1870. The father of our subject, Bildesar Reinbold, came to America in 1885 and located near Ipswich, Edmunds county, South Dakota, where he took a pre-emption and engaged in farming three years, after which he moved to Madena township, Edmunds county, and there took a homestead farm. The grandfather of our subject, Martin Reinbold, went from Germany to Russia about eighty-five years ago. Jacob Reinbold attended school after coming to America and at the age of twenty two years began working for his living. He assisted his father in the farm work until about twenty-five years of age, and in 1892 took a homestead claim in Edmunds county, South Dakota. He now owns two hundred and twenty acres of land, sixty-five acres of which is in pasture land, and he engages in the raising of wheat and cattle. He now has about fifteen head of cattle and nine horses and all necessary machinery for the work of the farm. Our subject was married in 1895 to Lena Neisz, a daughter of George Neisz, a farmer and early settler of Madena township. Mrs. Reinbold was born in Russia and reared and educated in America. Two children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Reinbold. as follows: Gracie and Mary. Mr. Reinbold is township treasurer and school clerk and has served as chairman of the board of supervisors. Both Mr. and Mrs. Reinbold are members of the Catholic church. Politically our subject is a Democrat.
