LAW, the younger brother of Thomas J. Law, a sketch of whom will appear on another page of this work, is one of the most enterprising and prominent of the younger members of the business population of Clear Lake, South Dakota, where he, in partnership with his brother, is managing and publishing the "Clear Lake Courier." Mr. Law was born in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, November 11, 1873. He learned the-printer's trade in his father's office and at the same time secured an education in the public schools of Shullsburg. He moved to South Dakota in March, T 896, and purchased the newspaper of which he is now manager, of Mr. Whiting, who established it about six years before. He has so conducted the various departments of the newspaper enterprise that he has built up for himself an excellent reputation as an editor and a large patronage for his newspaper. He has a bright, spicy, newsy sheet, and through its columns reaches the minds and consciences of many of Deuel county's prominent citizens and also prominent people in other and adjoining counties. He is a young man of strong character, broad ideas, and has a large circle of warm friends. Politically he is a Republican.
