Cemetery History of Evangelical Lutheran Paulus Congregational Church Now Zion Ev. Lutheran Church In the year 1895, month of December, Christian Schmidt and Johanetta Schmidt Husband and Wife, Washington County, State if Wisconsin, sold in consideration of $1.00 to the Trustees of the Evangelical Lutheran Paulus Congregational Church and their successors in office To wit:- Commencing at the S. W. corner of sec. 1. - Thence running East on said section line 28 rods, - Thence North 28 rods, - Thence West 28 rods, - Thence South 28 rods on said section line to the place of beginning. The object being to convey a strip of land 28 rods square in the S.W. ¼ of the S.W. ¼ of Sec. 1, Twn. 95N of R61W. in said Bon Homme County. No church ever was built on this piece of land. Church services were conducted Pioneer style until the final dissolution of organization, its members joining elsewhere. This cemetery for the past several years has been and now is under the custodianship of the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Avon, So. Dakota. The cemetery’s present committee chairman is Dave J.
