Dear Classmate: At a recent meeting of several Columbia High School Alumni, it was decided to form an Alumni Association. The main purpose of said Association is to plan a reunion of all Columbia High School graduates and teachers. It was decided to have a picnic at 4 o'clock on July 5, 1965, at the Columbia City Park for all alumni and/or husbands, wives, and families. Said picnic is to be catered and each one present is to pay for his own meal. All former teachers are to be invited. It was also voted to assess each alumnus $2.00 as a charter membership fee. Where both husband and wife are alumni, the $2.00 fee will apply for both. This money will be used for expenses incurred, such as printing, postage and etc. This membership fee is due now. Mrs. Ruth Zastrow is compiling a history of Columbia High School and would appreciate your returning the enclosed card to your class chairman or the Columbia Alumni Association. Please return the card if you plan to attend or not. May we please have your reservations for the picnic supper as soon as possible. We must know how many to plan for. All of us here are hoping to have a really grand reunion. President; Lucille and Robert Dennert-Secretary and Treasurer; and Ruth Zastrow (Mrs. Alvin)- Historian. All addresses are Columbia, South Dakota. If you have the address of any former classmates or teachers, please inform your class chairman. Sincerely, Your Class Chairman We wish to thank the following chairmen who have tried so hard to contact each graduate for history which was compiled for this booklet.
