N. Hoover on Friday. Nov. 3, 1922. Mr. Heath was one of the well known pioneers of the Missouri river country, and did his share in developing and beautifying this section of the great west which he loved. Born in Troy, New York in 1844, Mr. Heath came to Michigan with his parents as a boy. When the civil war broke out, he enlisted in the army from Michigan, and served three years and three months, receiving an honorable discharge at the end of the great conflict. He was with Sherman’s memorable army which made the march from “Atlanta to the sea”. Last July Mrs. Heath passed away, after a lingering illness, and Mr. Heath followed her only four months later. The funeral was held Monday at the J. N. Hoover residence, services being conducted by Rev. F. J. Brown of Bijou Hills. The remains were laid away in Union Cemetery beside those of his wife, to await the glorious day when the faithful shall be called to receive their reward. One by one the old times are going. While we think this country is still new, the lives of noble men and women have been devoted to bringing it to the state of development which we enjoy today. May we be able to rendered good account for tour efforts as they have done.
