Katherine Truman, daughter of Samuel J. and Louise Truman, was born near 
Wheeler, S.D. Marcy 12, 1891, and died Feb. 4, 1946, at the age of 54 years, 10 
months and 22 days.
After her mother's death when Katherine was two years old, she was cared for 
as  a daughter by Mr. and Mrs. Solmon Clough. When she was 17, death again left 
her motherless and she returned to Wheeler where she made her home with her 
father, brother, and sister. Her whole life was spent in the vicinity of 
Wheeler. 
On New Year's Day, she was taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital, at Lynch, Ne. 
for care. Death came to her Feb. 4, 1946, as an answer to her prayers for 
release from pain and she has gone to join her savior.
Katherine was a dear and loving daughter, and friend, whose life was devoted to 
the comfort of others. Even in her last weeks of illness, when suffering so 
intelsely she was thoughtful and considerate of those who visited or cared for 
her.
She was preceeded in death by her mother, father, three sisters, and one 
brother. She leaves to mourn her passing: two brothers, John of Bristow, and 
Albert of Geddes. S.D., a sister, Martha of Geddes, two nephews and three 
neices, Lloyd, Delwyn,Joan, Kathryn and Ruth Truman of Bristow. besides her 
friends, who are numbered by those who knew her.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Bristow, Feb. 7, 1946, 
Rev. Fred Varcoe of Spencer and Rev th. Bultsma of Platte officiating.  Pall
bearers were Geo. Chauncey, Wm. Batstone, Lawrence and Clarence Durham, John 
Pavlis, and Clifford Creasey, Interment was made in the Bristow cemetery.
