H. Ellis ELLEF LOKEN was born March 26, 1835, in Norway and emmigrated to the United States in 1872, and located in Wisconsin in July, 1873. In 1879 he removed to Hancock county, Iowa, and in 1883 he moved to Faulk county, South Dakota. He now resides in Pulaski on his farm of 320 acres of valuable land. 150 acres under cultivation, with good farm buildings, and farm machinery, nine horses and twenty head of neat cattle. Mr. Loken married Miss Carrie Guttenburg, and to them have been born three children. She died in 1887 and a second marriage was contracted with Miss Ida Olson in 1889. To them has been born five children. Mr. Loken is one of the successful pioneers who experienced the hardships of the early settlers of this county and now enjoys the prosperity that has come to them in later years.
