H. Ellis WILLIAM H. McALLEN was born July 11, 1857, at West Chazy, New York. His first business engagement was with O. K. Wood & Co., as a traveling salesman, where he was actively engaged for eight years. In the meantime he had taken up his residence in Wisconsin, where he resided until 1883, when he removed to Faulk county, Territory of Dakota, where he located government land, and where he has since resided. In addition to carrying on his farm, Mr. McAllen has been engaged in selling farm machinery. His farm embraces all of section 15, township 119, north of range 68, west. He has 360 acres under fence for pasture and the remaining 280 acres are under cultivation. He has an extra good set of farm buildings, all neccessary farm machinery, sixty head of neat stock and nineteen head of horses. In July 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Matatty of Aberdeen, South Dakota. To them have been born five children, viz: Delia, Isabella, Viola, Frances, and Hubert.
