Ellis THOMAS DEADY was born in New York City, April 18, 1844 and remained in that city and had the advantages of the schools until the fall of 1868, then went to the state of Illinois and remained there until the spring of 1883. In 1877 he married Miss Ada Tuttle. To them was born two children, John Thomas and Edward E. John Thomas is married and lives in Seattle, Washington. Edward E. is married and lives in Montana. In the spring of 1883 Mr. Deady came to Dakota and located in Faulk county where he has since resided. After the decease of his first wife Mr. Deady married Miss Lulu May Frink, of Emporia, Kansas. To them have been born three children, viz: Cora Lester, Dora May and Jennie May, who are yet members of his family. Mr. Deady is now located upon the north-west of section 14, township '118, range 70 and has a fine farm and extra good farm buildings. Ninety-five acres are under cultivation, the remainder being in inclosed pasture. He has refused seven thousand dollars for this farm, but on account of a year's severe sickness, sold the most of his personal property and spent the winter of 1908-9 in the south.
