In December, 1867, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Cowen and to them have been born five children, viz: James C., Isabella C., William R., Alex A., and Georgia May, who died when four years of age. In the spring of 1883 Mr. Garrick came to Faulk county and located near Cresbard. Fifteen years ago he bought and moved onto the E. C. Sage farm one mile from Faulkton. This farm was bought for $1,400 and a few days ago sold for $6,400, a clear profit of $5,000. For the last five years Mr. Garrick has resided in the city of Faulkton. He has been elected to the board of county commissioners several times. He has taken a great interest in public affairs and at the age of 64 is a well preserved, active citizen.
