Comrade Hall was one of the first to respond to the presidents call for volunteers when his countries liberties was menaced by armed treason and his many wounds attest his bravery and devotion on many a hard fought field and for his galantry and bravery in action received the commendation of his superior officers and be it, RESOLVED: That in the death of comrade Hall this Post has lost one of its most useful members and the country one of its bravest defenders and this community one of its most respected citizens and his family a kind parent and devoted husband. RESOLVED: That his devoted wife who so patiently ministered to his wants during his sickness has the heartfelt sympathy of this Post. RESOLVED: That these resolutions be recorded in the minutes of the Post and a copy sent to his bereaved family and a copy sent to each of the County papers published at Wessington Springs for publication.
