T., on the 16th day of June for the purpose of getting names of Charter members to form a Post of the Grand Army of the Republic. The following named Soldiers signed the roll as charter members: P. B. Barrett, C. W. P. Osgood, W. T. Hay, C. T. Hall, T. V. Donovan, H. C. Stephens, C. D. Brown, J. H. Woodburn, J. G. Good, Wm. Taylor, C. H. Stephens, Jno. R. Francis, Jas. T. Ferguson, C. M. Chery. The meeting was organized by electing J. Spears, President. The President made some remarks on the object and aims of the Organization; also some appropriate remarks by Comrade Osgood and others. Comrade Stephens tendered the use of the Hall free of charge and a motion was made by Comrade Osgood and seconded to give the Comrade three cheers for his liberal offer which was given with a will. It was moved and seconded that the comrades meet one week from to-day on the 23rd to give others a chance to sign the roll as charter members. Motion carried. It was moved and seconded that J. Spears and H. C. Stephens do the necessary correspondence with the Department Commander. Carried. Moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn until Saturday, June 23d, 2 o'clock p.m. Carried.
