Come and Spend the Day. Bring Your Uncles and Your Aunts, Your Nephews , Cousins, and Neices Especially. A Basket Picnic and a Good Time. At a meeting in Stephens' Hall on the evening of the 21st to consult in regard to the celebration of the coming Fourth and hear reports of the committees appointed at the meeting held on the 13th inst., J. Spears was chosen chairman and C. W. McDonald secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The committees appointed were as follows: On place and arrangements, C. W. P. Osgood, H. Blowers, Rev. J. G. Campbell. On music: R. M. Magee, J. O. Shryock, E. Riddle, M. Hoar, A. Sturgis, Miss Nellie Grant, Fannie Riddle, Lillie M. Young, Inez Hoar. On amusements: Mr. Spears, Thos. Drake, F. Drake. On speakers: H. C. Stephens, R. S. Bateman, _______ Smith. On refreshments: Mrs. H. J. Wallace, C. W. P. Osgood, J. W. Thomas, A. A. Riddle, R. S. Bateman, A. B. Smart, J. W. P. Jordan, H. C. Stephens, H. Blowers, P. R. Barrett, J. G. Campbell, J. McCarty, A. J. Wentworth, J. Chapman, C. T. Hall, D. W. Shryock, C. Brown, F. T. Tofflemire, C. Barrett. Marshal of the Day and Master of Ceremonies - H. J. Wallace. Assistant Marshall - J. W. Thomas. The committee on amusements was instructed to raise $500 for fire works. Mr. Drake from the committee on Finance reported $20.75 raised so far, but no active canvassing as yet. Mr. Magee of the committee on music reported progress and assured the people they might confidently expect the necessary music suitable to the occasion. Mr. Stephens of the committee to secure speakers reported that the committee had consulted together and agreed upon whom they would invite for speakers. Several motions were made in regard to where the exercises should be held, but the storm coming up cut off all further discussion and the meeting adjourned to meet in the same place on Saturday night at 8 o'clock. For the better information of the public it is suggested that the exercises be according to the following PROGRAMME National salute at sunrise. Decoration of Buildings to be completed by 9 a. m. Procession to be formed at the Hall of C. H. and H. C. Stephens at 9:30 Music by the Glee Club. Prayer. Singing - Glee Club. Reading Declaration of Independence. Singing - Glee Club. Oration. Singing - Glee Club. Benediction - Glee Club. Singing - Glee Club. Basket Picnic. General Amusements. At Dark - Fireworks. "Home, Sweet Home."
