Hall. We are proud to have such a worker go from our midst. Her work in this county has been no less efficient. Indefatigable in her enthusiasm and love for her own county, she has traveled in all kinds of weather to fill appointments, rallying the temperance workers, and by her presence inspiring them to greater efforts for "God and Home and Native Land." Her lecture before the Teachers' Institute, was pronounced by some of our best judges, the finest ever delivered in this place. We can heartily say Amen to all that is said in her praise. –Wessington Springs Herald --------------- An interesting and instructive lecture was delivered by Dr. Nettie Hall of Wessington Springs, at the Methodist church, on Tuesday evening last. She lectures under the auspices of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, being at the head of the department of Hygiene. Her lecture was most carefully prepared and well delivered. It ought to heard throughout the length and breadth of the land. This woman is doing a vast amount of good by her presentation of facts, and the PIONEER trusts that she may be greeted by large audiences wherever she may go. Mrs. Hall's husband was a brave soldier, and made a brilliant military record during the war, and died from the effect of wounds received in battle. She is a practicing physician, standing high in the profession. But for the present she is devoting herself to the work assigned her by the W. C. T. U., and no one better qualified could have been selected for the work. – Aberdeen Pioneer --------------- Those who failed to attend the lecture given at the Presbyterian church last Thursday evening by Mrs. Hall, M. D. on "The hygienic plank of the temperance platform" missed a most excellent and instructive evening's entertainment. Mrs. Hall is by profession and special study thoroughly qualified to teach the people on this important subject and she gives instruction in a way that can be understood by all and impresses itself upon the mind permanently. She maintains that mothers are in no small degree responsible for originating the appetite for drink in their children by the character of food given them in early life which in later life seeks to satisfy its cravings in the cup that inebriates. She warned them that they should apply prohibition in their kitchens to seasonings with spices, brandies and wines, and to teas and coffees which create in the stomach an abnormal appetite for stimulants which seek to be satiated by tobacco and alcoholic drinks. Mrs. Hall is a fluent speaker and has her subject so thoroughly mastered that she held the undivided attention of the audience for more than an hour. She should be heard by all, no matter what their views on the prohibition question. – Jamestown Capital --------------- The lecture Sunday evening was fully up to the popular expectation. What that popular expectation was may be inferred from the fact that the people were packed in like sardines in a box. Mrs. Hall understands perfectly the present situation, and understands how to tune her harp to the popular ear, she made no enemies, but doubtless won some to and strengthened others in the cause of the home against the saloon. Should she see fit to come to Waterbury again she will receive a hearty welcome. – Jerauld County Messenger --------------- Mrs. N. C. Hall, M. D., territorial superintendent of hygiene in the W. C. T. U. lectured at the Beach Memorial church on Thursday of last week. There was not a large number in attendance, a much smaller number, we predict , than would attend should this gifted lady again favor us with a lecture. It was an instructive, moral and physical talk which our people could ill afford to miss. – Howard Advance --------------- Dr. Nettie Hall of Wessington Springs lectured upon hygienic temperance at the M. E. church Friday evening of last week to a fairly good audience. The Doctor has a pleasing familiar style, which holds the attention of her auditors whilst she gives them doses of sound doctrine, and lets the sunlight in uplon some false notions of kitchen, parlor, sleeping rooms and the pantry. More of such plain talkers, and less of whippers around the stump, is what the platform needs for usefulness. –Woonsocket Times --------------- Mrs. Dr. Hall, Territorial Superintendent of Hygiene, lectured at the M. E. church last Friday evening. There was not a very large audience, but nevertheless Mrs. Hall did her subject proud, getting to the bottom of every point brought up. Those in attendance were well pleased and all hope she will visit us again and that she will have a larger audience. – Woonsocket News --------------- Mrs. Nettie C. Hall, of Wessington Spring, Dakota, delivered a lecture on the "Hygiene plank in the temperance platform" in the M. E. church Monday evening. The attendance was very good. – Dell Rapids Times --------------- Mrs. Nettie C. Hall delivered her lecture on "The Hygienic Plank in the Temperance Platform" before a large audience at the M.
