Wessington Springs Herald, Nov. 14, 1884
DIED.-James Elmer Phillips, Born at Lodi, Columbia Co., Wis., Jan. 31, 1871;
died at his home near Wessington Springs on Saturday, Nov. 8, 1884, aged 13
years, 9 months and 7 days.

    The death of the bright boy mentioned in the above was a sudden blow to the
bereaved parents; being an only dhild and having been sick but a very short
time. The afflicted parents have the heartfelt sympathy of their many neighbors
and friendsin this their greatest sorrow.
