Pallbearers were Reinhold Bauer, John Sargent, August Bender, Vern Wellman, Fred Bomar and Herbert Grohs. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery with the Lee Funeral Service in charge. Mr. Salmon, son of Oliver and Myrtle Salmon, was born in Maxwell, IA., June 6, 1907 When a young boy he moved to Murdo with his family. Later he moved to Wessington Springs and on Feb 25, 1930 was married to Jennie Burma. Mr. Salmon farmed until 1940 then moved to near town, where he worked until his health failed a year ago. Survivors are his widow, and three children, Mrs. Jerry Drees, Artis LaVerne, and Dale Gene, all of Wessington Springs. Also surviving are two grandchildren; two brothers; Charles, Fort Huachuca, AZ and and Leo, Huron; his step-father, James Masterson of Gregory; four half-brothers and five half- sisters: Paul Masterson, Winner; Mrs. Mary Mutchler, Lead; Mrs. Lucille Hofer, Wood; Mrs. Loretta Kingsbury, White River; Lawrence and Glen H Salmon, Boyden, IA; Voilet Conroy, Weberville, MI; Dorothy Wermer, Sioux City; Donald Salmon, Ireland, US Navy; Mary Lou Smith, Williamston MI. Additional Comments: Parents of John Salmon, Oliver and Myrtle were divorced and both remarried. Not sure which of the half siblings belong to his mother or his father.
