Wessington Springs Herald Sept. 7, 1887
Married

    At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bateman, Wednesday, Sept. 7th, 1887,
Miss Mary Ford of Oconto, Wis., to Mr. M. A> McCune, of Wessington Springs, Rev.
J. W. Jordan officiating.

   At three o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, had "ye editor" gazed at the shining
faces of Mr. McCune and his young wife. "Ye" had been reminded of the land
flowing with milk and honey, and also a table groaning 'neath the weight of
"cake, tongue, etc."

    Among the guests assembled were: Mr. And Mrs. Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell,
Mr. And Mrs. Jno Chapman,  Mr. And Mrs. A. B. Smart, Mr. And Mrs. R. S. Bateman,
Mr. And Mrs. W. I. Bateman, Mr. And Mrs. H. M. Russ, Mr. And Mrs. E. L. DeLine,
Miss Eva Hawthorne, Miss Jennie Bateman, Mr. C. S. Heath and Mr. Al. Sturgess.

    The presents were very nice, consisting chiefly of silverware, dishes,
books, linen, and a fine hanging lamp.

    The bride was faultlessly attired in a gown of blue silk and the groom in
black.

  May joy and prosperity attend Mr. and Mrs. McCune through all the journey of life.
