Wessington Springs Herald, Mar, 27, 1885
We find the following in regard to one of Jerauld county's citizens in the
Clayton Co. Journal of March 11: "At Fayette this (Wednesday) evening occurs the
marriage of Miss Ellen D. Gordon and Elza I. Mentzer, of Crow Lake, D. T. Miss
Gordon was formerly a resident of Volga City, in this county, and is a young
lady of rare attainments and more than ordinary personal attractions. She is a
niece of T. D. White, of National, and Sidney and Henry White and Miss Geo.
Cummings, of Volga City, Mr. Mentzer is a banker at Crow Lake, D. T., and said
to br a young man of excellent habits. With hosts of Miss Ellen's friends, the
Journal wishes the couple abundant happiness and prosperity."
