Book Title: Doane Robinson's Encyclopedia Of South Dakota

  Albert Lake is in northeast corner of Kingsbury County and lapping over into
Hamlin Co. The name is a corruption of the original. It was named by John C.
Fremont in 1838 for Colonel J. J. Abert, Chief of the Topographical Engineers,
U. S. Army.
