Frank Phillips, aged 85, a veteran of the Civil war, retired farmer and resident of Madison passed away at his home on Lee avenue south this morning at 10 o'clock following a paralytic stroke which occurred Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock when he was at his home by himself. Mr. Phillips was found yesterday morning by neighbors lying upon the floor in an unconscious condition. Mr. Phillips has resided in Madison for the past 14 years, coming from Minnesota. During that time he has lived by himself. He is survived by 10 children, one of which is known in Madison, Ray Phillips, a former restaurant proprietor. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will take place in the Graceland cemetery.
