Death came suddenly. Yesterday morning Mrs. Phillips accompanied by her husband, was on the way to attend service at the M. E. Church of which she was a member. In front of F. C. Smith, Harth avenue and Seventh street, she fell to the sidewalk, the result of a stroke of paralysis. With the assistance of Mr. Smith the afflicted lady was carried into his residence where she was made as comfortable as possible, a physician summoned, and later she was removed to her home. She remained unconscious most of the time until death intervened at the hour above stated. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips have been residents of the city only a few months, coming here from Egan last fall. The family consists of several sons and daughters, among them Mrs. Eunice Blair of this city and Rae Phillips, formerly of this city but who recently went to Sioux City. Also Wm. Phillips, station agent for the Milwaukee company at Lake Preston, who arrived in the city yesterday afternoon. Other members of the family reside at distant points. The funeral will be held from the M. E. church tomorrow afternoon at 1:30. Burial in Graceland cemetery.
