Funeral Rites Read Here for Ray Phillips

  Funeral rites were read Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Hallenbeck's
funeral home for Ray Phillips, Madison business man, who died last Saturday
night at his home here following a long illness.
  Rev. C. C. Bracy officiated and Mrs. Inez Kelley sang two solos.  Pallbearers
included I. D. Lee, Walter Foley, Charles McDonald, John Stilson, John Pratt and
C. W. Sullivan, all brother Elks.
  Out-of-town relatives present included a niece, Mrs. Mildred Aaker, Sioux
Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Herb Carpenter and Mrs. Emma Shifflet, also of Sioux Falls,
niece and sister respectively of Mrs. Phillips.  Mr. Phillips' sister in Sioux
Falls was deterred by illness.
  Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
