Ry., on beautiful Spearfish Creek, which stream is well stocked with trout. Spearfish canyon, with its grand scenery, beautiful falls, etc., is close at hand. Spearfish is an ideal summer resort for tourists. It has a splendid farming country to draw from. Has the State Normal School, government fish hatchery, two banks, good schools, churches and progressive business firms. Population, including immediate vicinity, 2000. Altitude 3,600 feet.
