Funeral services for Maud Cooper were held Friday at the F.O. Jolley Funeral 
Home with Rev. Charles T. White officiating. Miss Cooper died early Wednesday 
morning at the Deadwood hospital. Burial was in the Bear Butte Cemetery with 
arrangements by the F.O.Jolley Funeral Home.A memorial was established to the 
First Presbyterian Church.Pallbearers were Craig Johnson,Lyle Johnson,Calvin 
Cooper,Russ Johnson,Chris Cooper and Mike Hale.
     Lora Maud Cooper was born in Meade County to Tom and Ida Cooper on Nov 24 
1901.She attended schools in Piedmont and Sturgis and graduated from Sturgis 
High School.She worked for several years in the Sturgis postoffice and took 
the school census for the city of Sturgis for many years.
     Her survivors include four sisters,Madge Robinson Roseville,Calif;Susie 
Gillespie,Lead;Rene Cooper,Sturgis;June Johnson,Sturgis;18 nephews and nieces 
and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
     Two bothers and a sister preceded her in death.
