Memorial services for Cyrus B. Johnson,76 Sturgis,will be Saturday at 2:30 
p.m.at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.Chaplain Ned Wick will 
officiate.The body was cremated.Johnson died wednesday at Horthern Hills 
General Hospital in Deadwood.He was born Aug. 10,1910 in Bear Butte Valley in 
Meade County to C.B.and Molly Johnson.he grew up and went to school in Bear 
Butte Valley.He graduated from high school in Sturgis.Johnson married June 
Cooper at Sturgis Sept.27,1941.The couple ran a dairy farm in Bear Butte 
Valley until 1968 when they moved to Sturgis.Johnson was a member of First 
Presbyterian Church,an officer in the U.S.Soil Conservation Service,and was 
former manager of the Stoneville Telephone Co.(Bear Butte Valley Telephone 
Co.).Survivors include his wife,June Johnson of Sturgis;three sons,Russell 
Johnson of Newcastle,Wyo.,Lyle Johnson of Cheyenne,Wyo.,and Craig Johnson of 
Palo Alto,Calif.;one daughter,Judy Rockwell of Elkhorn,Wis.;three 
sisters,Metta Morgan of Helena,Mont,Catherine Miller of Murrieto,Calif.,and 
Mary Blair of Tilford;and nine grandchildren.He was precded in death by one 
brother,two half-brothers and two half-sisters.Kinkade Funeral Chapel of 
Sturgis is in charge of arrangements.
