   Funeral srvices for Dr.Martin Henry Johnson,who died at Gregory,S.D. Oct.30 
were held at 2 p.m.Nov.3 at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Rev.Norman A.McCallum 
officiating.Burial was in the Bear Butte Cemetery.
   Dr. Johnson was born November 7,1907 to Cyrus and Mary Johnson at their 
Bear Butte Valley ranch east of Sturgis.He attended Iowa State University and
graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1933.He worked on the 
eradication of brucellosis and tuberculosis among cattle in South Dakota and 
North Dakota for the U.S. Bureau of Animal Industry until the spring of 1940 
when he and his wife Helen moved to Gregory to practice his profession there 
for the next 35 years.He retired in 1975.
   Survivors include his wife Helen,Gregory,one son,Don, and daughter-in-law 
Donna,and grandson Scott martin of Waynesboro,Va.,brother Cyrus B. 
Johnson,Sturgis,sisters Metta Morgan,Helena,Mont.,Mary Blair,Sturgis,Catherine
Miller,Fullerton,Calif.,and half sister Ruth Healey,Washington,D.C.
