SUFFRAGE DEFEATED

South Dakota Decides Against Women's Vote

SIOUX FALLS, S. D., Nov. 23, 1898
Returns from thirty-seven counties show a total vote in favor of women's 
suffrage of 13,559 and against 16,992. The indications are that the present 
majority of 3,433 against the amendment will be increased rather than 
diminished by the complete returns.
