At the age of 17 he united with the Baptist Church in Frederickshaven. In 1876 he came to this country and was married the next year to Caroline ANDERSEN. This marriage was of short duration as she died in 1881. In 1882 he was married to Inger M. CHRISTENSEN of Racine, Wisconsin. Six months later they moved to South Dakota and located in Daneville, Turner County. Ten children were born to this union of which eight remain to mourn their loss, two sons and six daughters. George is on the home farm in Minnesota; Roy is in the army stationed in California. The daughters are: Mrs. Lena MONK, Mrs. Huldah PINNEY, Mrs. Lillie SWENSON, Eva and Ida, all of Viborg, and Mrs. Eleanora BEYERS of Beebe, S. Dak. The faithful wife also remains. There also remains one sister, Mrs. Lars NIELSON of Sioux Falls, and two brothers, Marinus JENSEN of Viborg and S.C. JENSEN of Turkey Valley. Mr. JENSEN was a member of the Viborg Baptist Church since its organization, for many years its clerk. In 1902 he and his family moved to Leader, Cass Co., Minnesota. He immediately united with the Baptist Church there and became a great help to the cause. About a year ago his health began to fail. Though having the best of care he gradually grew weaker until on the 11th day of March he peacefully fell asleep. His body was brought to Viborg for interment. The funeral took place from the Baptist Church March 15th, Revs. BOLVIG of Minnesota and Peters officiating. A host of friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
