She taught school in her early days and joined the Baptist Church at Saby, Denmark at the age of 15 years. She came to America at the age of 22 and was married to Andrew JENSEN in 1882. He died March 11, 1918. To this union ten children were born, four of whom preceded the mother in death. They were Walter and George, who died in infancy; Huldah, Mrs. Joe PINNEY; and Eva, Mrs. Herman KNUTSON. The living children are: Mrs. Arlo MONK, Parker, S. Dak; George JENSEN, Brainerd, Minn.; Mrs. Raymond SWENSON, Viborg; Roy JENSEN, Brainerd; Mrs. William BEYERS, Roscoe, S. Dak.; Mrs. James EIDE, Brainerd. Mrs. JENSEN also leaves to remember her, two brothers: P. C. CHRISTENSEN, Irene, S. Dak. and C. P. CHRISTENSEN, Irene, S. Dak. and 17 grandchildren and 4 great grand-children. Mr. and Mrs. JENSEN moved to Leader, Minn. in 1902 where they farmed until the death of Mr. JENSEN. At that time Mrs. JENSEN came back to Viborg to live. She made her home here up to the time of her death which came at the age of 83 years, 11 months, 16 days. Mrs. JENSEN will be remembered for her kindness in nursing many folks through times of sickness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Viborg, and was a loyal supporter of the church in her prayers, service and faithful and regular attendance. Additional Comments: NOTE: Born Hørby, Hjørring, Denmark on 16 Feb. 1860. Daughter of Christian OLESEN, (b 1816), a spinning wheel maker, and his second wife, Johanne Marie PEDERSEN, (b 1829). “Sensysen” likely meant Vendsyssel, the northern region of North Jutlandic Island.
