From our regular correspondent

Mrs. Sarah I Stoddard, who is now visiting her daughter, Mrs. E C Swoyer of
Richland, was 85 years old on last Thursday. A little surprise was sprung on her
when five of her six children met with her that day as follows: Mrs. Juliet
Flanagan of Sioux Falls, W H Stoddard of Hurley, H B Stoddard of Parker, Mrs. J
M Clementson of Westfield, and Mrs. E C Swoyer. The daughter whom she is
visiting, Mrs. D B Wilcox of Chino, Cal., was the only absent child and her son,
Thomas A Watson and family was invited to represent the absent daughter. The day
was passed in visiting, talking over happenings of bygone days when in the old
home, relating amusing incidents in the lives of the kids (whose ages now range
from 43 to 62 years) and the effort to get away with two monstrous meals,
besides ice cream lunches, which had been prepared. At the present time Grandma
Stoddard's health is very good and she is spry.
