Arnold on 3 February, 1975, in Stockton, California, at the age of 85. Mr. Arnold was a very large boulder in the foundation of the Association and he will be greatly missed. I am sure I speak for all of us in expressing our condolences to Mrs. Arnold and her family. I feel I must apologize for the lateness of this Quarterly. Ever since I accepted the editorship I felt I could fit it into my everyday schedule. In September I increased the hours of my job at the University to 28 and gave up the one day a week 1 set aside for my genealogical projects. With the additional duties on the job and the ever-growing activities of any family, I find it virtually impossible to find the time and strength it takes to publish this Quarterly. I therefore must resign after the next issue. I have talked this over with Hazel MacIvor and we feel the benefits of the Association are too great to let it fold entirely and therefore we are taking a different direction with the 1975-76 year. I will continue to serve as Secretary / Treasurer and Hazel has agreed to pull together a Quarterly, to be published on a yearly basis. We will concentrate on one state per year, beginning with North Carolina, and continue until all our records have been published. Remember, as long as you send in records, we will continue to publish, if at all possible. The Family Group Record Sheet Project has been very worthwhile however due to the lack of cooperation from our members within the last year, our Chairman, Wanda Arnold, feels it is no longer necessary to continue and has forwarded to me a letter of resignation. Her job has been a long and often tedious one, however she has presented for our permanent files beautiful copies of the worksheets. I had hoped to get a card index started in connection with this project and I want to thank all the volunteers who came forward to help. Next year when the duties of Editorship are off my shoulders, I will concentrate on getting started. I want to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Philip M. Arnold for the addition to our files of 48 typed pages of miscellaneous Arnold records sent to him from the LDS Archives, to Mrs. Maxine Santmyer for additional records from Allegheny County, Maryland, to Mrs. Karen Lind for a listing of Arendell's listed as Soldiers in the Civil War, and Mr. Ted Brooke for Cumberland County, Virginia, records.
