64-12-1 To E & A Damrell from Robert & Cynthia Henderson December 11 1864 Grand Pa and Ma I seat myself this sabbath Night to drop you a few lines in answer to your kind letter I received up in Grand Round valley. We are all well at present and hope those few lines may find you in the same blessings. Grand Ma you must excuse me for not writing sooner. I will tell you the reasons we had been up on Snake River and came to Grand Rond, and their staid one month and then came to the valley. I would not write till I found out where our post office would be. Grand Ma I was glad to hear from you and hope this wont be the last time. Grand Ma you -- to see Emmet and his little dog. He will tell it to speak for bread and it will speak and he will tell it to lay down and roll over and it will so do. Emmet knows his letters. Oh Dear Grand Ma and Pa how glad I would be to see you all. It may never be in this life. If not I hope and pray we will meet in a better world. I understod Pa had met with bad luck. he has a hard time in this life. But we must not grieve after any one that God takes to rest. I hope She has gone to rest where I prey to go. I know this life is but a dream, Grand Ma and GrandPa you are both old and gray and I neve expect to see you anymore in this life I prey with all my heart to meet you in a world that free from sin. The folks mean well in the valley as far as I know we live about 70 miles from Bens. Meary Frances has a fine Boy I have never saw them since we been to the valley. The people are very good here. In a common way they are very ?ceaves to Emigraints. We live in a quarter of a mile of ---Jeff Hunsakers. They both sends this love to Grand Pa and Ma. We have peace here at present and I hope will remain so. I wish you _ad all here out of the full?. I will not persuade any one to come. but I will say this much I am satisfied you all could do better here than their. I would be glad if I was in reach of my little Brothers and Sisters. That I could do something for them. I know sister Lizzie and Martha will be a mother to them and I pray for them all to be good children that we may all meet some day togather if not in this life let it be in a better world. God blessed us to meet once more as I preyed for amany atime. I hope he will bless us to do good and when we are called a way To meet high up in Heaven. Tell Aunt Sarah and Uncle Will they must not think hard of us for we cant write to so many I want you to kiss her little children for me and tell her and Uncle I prey God will help them to raise their litte children to be good. tell them to write to me, write soon.
