I have washed today and I am fixing to iron. I am making some triming for you a nite cap. I wanted to send you something. we got a letter from Cintha not long since. they are all well at present. Our school will be out in two weeks. the children that go will be glad. teacher is not very good. Elize children are the cunningst little things you ever saw. I made a mistake when I septl Eliza's name you see. how is grandpa now. hows you. are you any better than when you rote (o how much I wish I could see you all. I must quit and go to my ironing & will finish to morrow. This is the 5th of November. Bud is over to sister Elisa. I have not seen him for a month. Pa is talking about going to Santa Rosa to work. he is going next week and he is going to stay til Christmas. Pa has written to Cosnie Cintha. O this morning is so pleasant. the boys are whistle. the birds are singing and everything is nice. I dont no whan I can get your trimming Done to send this time or not. I will try. Bud talks about you and says he would like to see you. Nov 11th 1871 St. Helena Napa Co CAL Dear Father & Mother Your vary welcome Letter came to hand Last week and found us all, as well as common, this also leaves us all well. I have nothing new to write to you. We are "going slow" trying to make a Living, times are pretty tite here. I collected Elevin hundred Dollars in Gold of what was owing to me this Fall and have still about 2000$ more owing to me, due next Fall and a Little piece of Land worth 300 or 400$. we are still Living on the same place as when I wrote before aim to stay here until Spring and be till fall I aim to go to morow or next day about 30 miles to work. expect to stay till Christmass. I get $2,50 cts per day & board. Robert Henderson has moved about 100 miles further into Oregon. They are in Umpaqua Vally Dushutes Co Myrtle Creek is their Post Office. Ben D & Samp H and a Lot of others from Sullivan are there.
