Canterbury Dear Father & Mother We Received your Letter in due time and I have put off writing longer then I anticipated but hope you excuse my negligence. I have nothing new to write but always thankful for good health. Amor's health is so much better then it has formally been that we almost conclude she is well but still, she lacks a great deal of that. the rest of us keep vary well, in fact, this is a vary health Country. I got a Letter not long since from Cyntha Ann. They had sold out and was going to move East of the Mountains perhaps to Montana Terrytory. Samp Hunsaker and Wm Henderson are going with them. Ben Damrell will Remain where he is. we had a Letter a few days ago from Eliza. they are well, John has a fine crop this year so has Augusutus, he has about 60 Acres of wheat. Some of it I think will make 40 bushels to the Acre. I was over there about one moth ago. We are not Farming much this season. Some wheat and some corn. I have not bought any place yet but calculate to between now and Fall, I think. I will send money this Fall to Susan Cason to bring her out here, that is, if they are all willing. Grand Ma as Amor has written some I will not write much this time. excuse me. My love to all the Friends, no more. Good by. L. F. Canterbury 72-09-02 St Helena Napa Co Cal Sept 2 1872 Dear Father & Mother We have been Looking for a Letter from you for a Long time and still are Doom'd to disapointment, what is the matter? Now we are fixing as fast as we can to move away from here. we are going back to Yolo Co and I thought I would write you a few Lines before we Left. So that you might know, where to write to us. we have had no Letter from MO for a Long time only one from Susan Cason and that was Last week. John Norton & myself calculate to send her money this Fall to come out here. now Grand Ma we are getting vary anxious to get a Letter from you. The Last we heard from there Grand pa was vary poorly which makes us more anxious. don't keep us in suspense any Longer. We had a Letter a short time ago, from Cynth Ann they are well. their P.O. is Stevens Co., Rock Creek P.O. Washington Terrytory. They are about 90 miles North of Walla, Walla. Brother Milton's Lost their second Daughter (Jenny,) about two weeks ago, it leaves them in a bad fix. Sarah has no help. John Norton & Family are well. John has made a fine crop this year, 1240 sacks worth about two Dollars per sack. Augustus also made a good crop and is getting along well. now Grand Ma we are going on Augustus's place, for the presant until I collect my money and then I will by a place. I have got about 2200 Dollars coming to me, besides a Little piece of Land worth about 3 or 4 hundred Dollars so when I get it all together I can do something with it. Amors health is improving slowly, all the time, and I think she will finally Regain her health. the Ballance of the Family all well.
