We join with you in sorrow for such a sad event and yet the news was not unexpected to us. Knowing his feeble state of health, aded to his old age we were prepared for such news. though it makes us feel sad and lonely, though we bow, to the sad_________, and say it is well. "To Live is peace, to Die is gain." we Fall one hear and another there and soon we will all have crossed over the River and then me thinks the Good of all Lands will be companious. Forever, so mote it be while I write Amor is in bed vary sick and has been for two or three days, it is her old complaint brot on I think by the fatigue of moving and the heat, a vary little throws her back but she has been so much better this Summer then usual. I was not Looking for her to have this spell. I hope she will be better soon. I am vary glad you wrote what you did about Susan Cason, not that I am glad she is such a girl but to Learn the facts in Regard to Her. I was going to send her money in about 2 weeks to come out here on but if she is not Reliable I have got no money to waste on her so that ends the matter. I fell sorry for her and thought I would try and help her. Well Brother & Sister, we are vary glad indeed that you wrote to us. why don't you do so often? it is a grat satisfaction to us to get Letters from our friends there though we get vary few. I don't know why it is for I answer evry Letter I get from there. I know my Letters are not vary interesting but then I do the best I can. enclosed you will find myne and Amor's and Mitty's pictures. Now why can't we have yours. They would be a great satisfaction to us. We have some pictures to send to most of our friends there and will sind them soon. I paid an artist not long since 20$ for work. Tell GrandMa that we will try and wait with patience for her Letter. I don't think I will Farm vary much next winter perhaps about 70 Acres. I want to hunt me a place to keep sheep. if I can find grass enough to keep a thousand sheep. its all I want, in 4 or 5 years, I can make all the money I need. this is decidedly a sheep Country. John Norton & Family ware well a few days ago. This Leaves us all well but Amor & hope it may find you all the same.
