Dear Sister:
As I have a good opportunity I'll write you a few lines.  You'll see from 
above, I'm now with Ruhamma Hatton my third daughter.  I've been with her 
nearly six weeks.  we've broke up house keeping and I make my home with my 
youngest son, but divide my time among my children.  I'm about as well as 
common have a bad cough, guess its just cold, at least, I hope so.  I want to 
hear from Lawrence Canterberry and his family, so when you answer this, if you 
know anything about them let me know and brother John also.  I'm not able to 
go any distance without some of them go with me.  Garred stays with Francis 
our youngest son.  he comes to see me once in a while.  My children are all 
doing well.  Mary, Luranza Nattin's wife and him left for Colorado or Texas.  
we have never heard from them since they left last spring.  I want to hear 
from them all mighty bad.  I want to hear from all your children so when you 
write tell me about them.  Uncle Phillip Hatten and his wife are dead, old 
Aunt Sallie Cyrus and Cousin Molly Staley are dead too.  Also Aunt Resy Cyrus, 
they all died, within a year of each other.  They culled the sweets of life 
and lived to heed them but 
Death is a road that must be trod.  If ever man would reach his God.  I heard 
from brother James.  his children are all married and doing well.  If you are 
living I want you to answer this soon and if you cant, get the children to
